PNC Declares Dividend of 10 Cents on Common Stock

Makes $95 Million Dividend Payment to U.S. Department of Treasury under the Troubled Asset Relief Program

PITTSBURGH, July 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. (NYSE: PNC) today announced that the board of directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of 10 cents per share on the common stock. The dividend is payable July 24, 2009 to shareholders of record at the close of business July 13, 2009.

The board also declared a quarterly cash dividend on the following preferred stocks:

    --  Series A and B: a dividend of 45 cents per share will be payable Sept.
        10, 2009 to shareholders of record at the close of business Aug. 19,
        2009.

    --  Series C: a dividend of 40 cents per share will be payable Oct. 1, 2009
        to shareholders of record at the close of business Sept. 4, 2009.

    --  Series D: a dividend of 45 cents per share will be payable Oct. 1, 2009
        to shareholders of record at the close of business Sept. 4, 2009.

    --  Series L: a dividend of $2,468.75 per share ($.6171875 per each
        depositary share, 4,000 of which represent one share of Series L
        preferred stock), payable on Aug. 3, 2009 to shareholders of record as
        of the close of business July 15, 2009.

    --  Series N: a dividend of $1,250.00 per share, payable on Aug. 17, 2009 to
        shareholders of record as of the close of business July 31, 2009. The
        Series N preferred stock is held by the U.S. Department of Treasury
        under the Troubled Asset Relief Program.  To date, the board of
        directors has authorized or paid a total of $237 million in dividends to
        the Treasury.
