PNC Named Bank of the Year in the United States

PITTSBURGH, Dec. 3, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. (NYSE: PNC) announced today that it has been selected by The Banker magazine, as "Bank of the Year in the USA 2010." The Banker is the longest running international banking trade magazine and is published in London by the Financial Times.

PNC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer James E. Rohr accepted the award on behalf of PNC at a Dec. 2 ceremony in London. The award was presented by The Banker Editor Brian Caplen and former BBC Correspondent Michael Buerk.

"This award represents another milestone in PNC's effort to build a great banking brand," said Rohr. "We accept it on behalf of 50,000 PNC employees who serve customers, shareholders and communities through our differentiated business model and moderate risk philosophy."

The award from The Banker is just one of numerous awards PNC has earned in the past several years, including being named to the BusinessWeek 50 in 2009, selection as one of Fortune's Most-Admired Companies in 2010 and named One of America's Most Shareholder Friendly Companies by Institutional Investor in 2009. Rohr was named Banker of the Year by American Banker in 2007.
